A popular choice of physical security for a range of applications from commercial shopfronts to industrial warehouse doors. Steel Roller Shutters are available in a range of profiles and designs. The profiles are generally cold rolled from a coiled sheet of galvanised steel which vary in thickness dependent upon the size or wind loadings of the door. The most popular profile is the traditional 75mm curved design that is available in a solid, perforated or punched letterbox style slots, inline formation or brick bond.

Galvanised, Plastisol coated or polyester powder coated coloured finishes also available.

Steel Roller Shutters can also be manufactured to offer a level of insulation to .69Wm/k, this is achieved by sliding two profiles of insulated style lath together whilst inserting an insulated core into the void between, this profile is historically 85mm or 100mm Deep depending upon size and application. A more modern version of an insulated profile is a 95mm Foam Filled Lath, this is achieved by injecting a CFC free foam into the centre of a one piece profile whilst it is being roll formed. Should a high level of visibility or ventilation be required then a Tube & Link Grille Curtain is the ideal choice. This type of curtain is favoured on car park and vehicle loading areas and on installations where planning restrictions may apply or simply to separate two areas of the same room or building. Where security is paramount but ventilation is necessary, the grille curtain can be combined with a lower section of traditional lath curtain with high level grille for ventilation. Steel Roller Shutters can be colour co-ordinated by means of powder coating to any standard RAL colour, the majority of plastisol coated finishes are also available to match with the steel cladding used on industrial buildings. RAL colour charts

Roller Door Drive Options

Used on smaller to medium sized openings that are either too large for push up, or where there is no electrical supply available. Hand chains operate either a gear driven or chain driven barrel assembly. Opening and closing is assisted by an helical counterbalanced spring within the barrel tube assembly. On doors exerting more than 25kg, a Safety Anti Fall Back Device is fitted to protect the fall back of the vertically moving door should a fault occur in the balancing components.

Electric Tubular Motor Roller shutter doors

240 volt, single-phase tubular motors, typically used on shop-front, office or domestic low use applications. The motor is mounted within the roller mechanism, which reduces the amount of space required to accommodate the shutter box assembly.

Safety brakes (anti fall-back device) mandatory since 2011 under the CPR (Construction product regulations) are fitted to comply with European regulations of failure of the one balancing component.

Emergency hand operation is provided as standard via a hook and eye style hand crank handle.

Electric Direct Drive Safedrive

240V and 415V Typically used on industrial applications.Integral safety brake (anti fall-back device) fitted within the motor gearbox protects the vertically opening door from falling. A direct drive motor eliminates the need for counterbalance springs, drive chains or gear trains. Ideal for high usage applications such as industrial premises, car parks or loading bays. Emergency hand chains, activated and operable from floor level are provided as standard.
