Vented high speed doors

We were approached by a new customer to offer a door solution for two of the openings within their factory.

Due to hygiene requirements in the factory, the large doors could not be left open which posed a problem in warmer months where ventilation was required. Currently, the client had manufactured large mesh screens which were manually placed in front of the doors whilst the doors were open but were cumbersome and inconvenient. The client was looking for some type of door which could be opened and closed but offer some ventilation whilst in the closed position.

We were able to offer our client an automatic fast acting door, working on radar motion sensors that could open and close automatically for traffic with a safety light curtain across the door opening as well as pedestrian and impact protection photo cell posts to either side of the opening.

For the ventilation, we replaced the normally clear vision windows with 1mm x 1mm mesh panels and fitted to this were Velcro cover panels for the winter months when ventilation was not required.

The doors used, have an opening speed of up to 3m/s and are rated to class 5, up to 150mph wind conditions.
