Sectional Overhead Doors

Manufacture, Supply, Install and Maintain all types of Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Garage Sectional Overhead Doors.

Sectional overhead doors

Energy Saving, Superior resistance to all weather conditions, a high level of security and excellent insulation, Made from either galvanised steel or aluminium panels, they are able to withstand all the elements and take into account the ever increasing importance of insulation in building regulations.

Sectional Overhead Door Panels

Kingspan 610 mm deep x 40 mm thick composite panels manufactured using 0.5 thick hot dipped zinc coated (to BS EN 10147) steel internal and external facing sheets. These sheets are bonded together using a CFC free foam which has a density of 40kg/m3. Each Panel has a formed tongue and grooved hinged joint incorporating a neoprene seal running the full length of the panel to give excellent weather resistance. The panel itself gives a “U” value of 0.45 W/m2 K, meaning that a typical 4,000 x 3,500 (W x H) door fitted and tested gives a “U” value of 0.9 W/m2 K when installed.

Standard Finishes to Sectional Panels

Stucco embossed and Plastisol coating to a standard colour to external face with White to internal face. Extruded aluminium cappings are fitted to the top and bottom panels, these are fitted with rubber seals and combine with the vertical PVC side seals to provide an effective perimeter weather seal.

Head Gear Spring Assemblies

Sectional doors are counterbalanced by spring to ensure the smooth running of doors, using minimal effort. All counterbalance spring calculations carried out, are done to get the maximum life out of the door springs we manufacture. The springs are manufactured using high tensile helical wound steel, these are heat treated for improved performance. The springs are mounted onto a steel shaft supported by bearing brackets incorporating sealed bearing rollers, this ensures free running of the shaft. Also mounted on the spring shaft are the cable drums, these carry the aircraft quality lifting cables. These are looped and swaged using a hydraulic press to ensure the cables do not get detached from the cable drums or the brackets which connect the cables to the bottom of the door panels.

Panel Hardware

The side roller carriers are adjustable to allow the door panels to seal perfectly against the door seals and along with the intermediate panel hinges, are hot dipped galvanised steel. The rollers which run in the vertical side track are sealed for life, self lubricating bearings c/w a nylon tyre, to give a smooth and quiet operation. The rollers are mounted onto a zinc plated steel shaft. The door track systems are designed to suit the headroom available above the opening and where necessary, the pitch of the roof. Manufactured using pre-galvanised 2mm formed ‘J’ style track, mounted to a continuous galvanised jamb angle incorporating vertical PVC side seals to ensure positive sealing.

Track Configurations

Low Headroom Track

As the name implies, are designed when there is limited headroom available. The track follows through a 90 degree bend at the opening height of the door and projects back into the building. This places the spring assembly to the Rear of the horizontal tracks to maximise the headroom available.

Standard Lift Track

The track follows through a 90 degree bend slightly above the clear opening height of the door before projecting backwards into the building. Also available to follow the contour of the roof when there is sufficient room in height and projection into the building.

High Lift Track

The track continues vertically past the clear opening height of the door to as much as the building or fixtures allow before turning through 90 degress and projecting back into the building. Also available to follow the contour of the roof. Manufactured when there is little restriction in height but possible projection into the building i.e.

Services/lighting/overhead cranes. Maximises space for taller buildings.

Vertical Lift

When there is sufficient height in the building to eliminate any projection.

Drive Options

Push Up / Pull Down doors

Typically used on smaller doors or loading bays where opening heights are within a reasonable reach that does not require the door to travel a great distance when leaving the operators hand. A pull cord may be used for opening and closing the door to provide ease and control of the moving door.

Hand Chain Operated Door

Used on small, medium and large sized openings for the safe, controlled opening and closing of the door where the operator remains in control of the door throughout its cycle. The hauling chain is attached to either a reduction unit to assist with the effort required or a Compact geared unit mounted directly to the spring shaft assembly.

Motor Operator

240V and 415V Motors mounted directly onto the Spring shaft assembly commonly referred to as a through drive. This eliminates the need for gears and sprockets. Typically used on industrial and some domestic applications.

Emergency hand chains activated and operable from floor level are provided as standard.

Available with a wide range of control options.

Push Button, Key switch, Remote Control, Radar, Photo-Cell, Induction Floor Loops, Fully Automatic complete with optional Traffic Lights and relevant Safety Features to comply with Health and Safety.
